You can get the Sonic with the 1.4 turbo and a manual transmission. Chevy offers a factory lowering kit that has stiffer/lower springs and upgraded rear shocks. Supposedly the refresh that got rid of the boy racer dual-round aftermarket looking headlights also brought some added refinement and other improvements. Fully loaded it stickers at under $23k.

I mean, it’s still not a Fiesta ST, but still halfway interesting if you must have a car in the subcompact segment.
